Dr. Mark Anton
Dr. Mark Anton is a Top Doctor and a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with dual Fellowships in Face and Breast. After more than 30 years practicing in Newport Beach, California, he has a reputation for being one of the best and busiest surgeons in Southern California. His philosophy and approach to plastic surgery is to enhance someone’s appearance with results that are natural. “You can age gracefully without plastic surgery,” he tells his patients, “or with plastic surgery done well.”
Dr. Anton blends a keen eye for three-dimensional aesthetics with his knowledge of anatomy and physiology. “Plastic surgeons,” he explains, “are essentially the tissue specialists. We combine our knowledge of tissue and sculpting in order to optimize the result.” In 2013 Dr. Anton was selected for his achievements and patient care as one of Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors. This is an honor bestowed on a select few and decided upon by a private review board. In 2014 he was selected as a Top Doctor for Orange County.
For the past 30 years Dr. Anton has been donating his time to Operation Smile (OS), a non-profit organization that travels the globe offering free surgeries for children with cleft-lip, cleft palate, and other facial deformities. Dr. Anton met the founder of Operation Smile, Dr. William Magee and his wife Kathy, when the two were in Virginia where they completed a Facial Fellowship. Since his first mission with OS in 1999 to war torn Liberia, Dr. Anton has made several more including one to Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010.
Education
Dr. Anton holds a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, from Tufts University and a Doctorate of Medicine from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He received top marks in his anatomy class, a precursor to his uncanny abilities in plastic surgery. His general surgery training and plastic surgery residency were completed at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan.
As the author of numerous scientific publications, he has presented papers at a number of national conferences. His most recent writings are found in the plastic surgery text Essentials of Plastic, Maxillofacial and Reconstructive Surgery.
